Finance brings together enterprise functions that drive Wells Fargo’s financial management, including accounting and control, financial planning and analysis, line of business finance, asset-liability management, treasury, tax management, and the company’s investment portfolios. They also inform shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, employees, and leaders of the company’s financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines.

The Position 

Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager for Technology Infrastructure Finance, the Senior Finance Manager will lead the Financial Planning and Analysis function for the Division. This senior leader will have responsibilities for the following:

  • Lead all budget and forecasting activities across the organization. Includes leading monthly close process and forecast updates. Prepare analysis for review with Senior Leadership, identify areas of concern and opportunity.
  • Direct work activities across the team to meet all Financial Planning deadlines.
  • Create reporting on strategic initiatives to ensure commitments are being met. Connect the related actions to all aspects of the financials. Initiatives will include unit rate analysis, Change the Bank strategic spend, efficiency programs, allocation of technology expense, and others.
  • Relationship management, partnership & consultancy with Technology Infrastructure Senior Leaders, CFO partners across Wells Fargo, and Technology Infrastructure Finance Team.
  • Balancing financials across various tools (FAST, STAMP, CFT) ensuring one source of truth for financial information and reporting.

The Candidate

A mature leader with proven critical thinking skills and demonstrated senior operational credibility will be determining factors in selection. The role requires a leader with strong relationship management, influencing, vision, operational and execution skills. A key differentiator will be the ability to think strategically, and understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, people skills and personal accountability for driving results.

  • Creativity and Innovation: Able to think creatively and critically to identify opportunities to uniquely and effectively meet customer needs. Strong ability to assess market and competitive conditions and to develop creative, break-through approaches supporting improved customer experiences and operational efficiencies.  
  • Analytical Thinking: Obtains and uses data necessary to identify opportunities or understand problems; uses quantitative techniques to make it actionable.

Salary range is determined by location of the job.
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule:

AZ – Phoenix, AZ: Min:  $143,500 Mid: $205,000 Max: $266,500
NC – Charlotte, NC: Min:  $143,500 Mid: $205,000 Max: $266,500
NY – New York, NY: Min:  $143,500 Mid: $205,000 Max: $266,500
CA – San Francisco, CA:  Min:  $143,500 Mid: $205,000 Max: $266,500
MN – Minneapolis, MN: Min: $143,500 Mid: $205,000 Max: $266,5000
IA – Des Moines, IA: Min:  $143,500 Mid: $205,000 Max: $266,500
TX – Dallas, TX Min:  $143,500 Mid: $205,000 Max: $266,500

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of management experience
  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics or reporting

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to drive and lead organizational change in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
  • Demonstrated success and mastery managing in a matrixed environment

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a senior finance, leader working in a large bank environment
  • Extensive experience analyzing and/or supporting project portfolios and indirect expense allocations to main business units
  • A highly effective, consultative leader with an executive presence and personal credibility as a result of demonstrated integrity, negotiation and financial management acumen, and effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • A leader who operates with a collaborative management style, is execution-focused, and results oriented
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain a highly engaged, high performing, and diverse team
  • Exceptional track record of delivering results
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead change, develop cutting edge, innovative solutions, build effective partnerships, and manage cross-functional projects in a matrixed organization
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills combined with strategic business focus
  • Experience in developing financial projections and establishing financial goals
  • Experience with cost benefit analysis on projects/initiatives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to coherently present complex financial topics tailored to audiences of varying seniority and functions in order to create understanding and influence decisions
