Finance Manager

Reporting to the CFO of PacSci and partnering with the Chandler site General Mangr, this leadership role is responsible for managing the financial performance of a complex $100M+ portfolio while developing and guiding the Finance team.

This position requires proactive leadership and significant cross functional collaboration to ensure alignment on strategic, operating and financial objectives.

The successful candidate is expected to routinely brief all levels of leadership on the business financial performance and provide strategic business support.

This role requires the ability to independently diagnose and drive results for the Chandler site, touching multiple functions in development and production factory environments.

The portfolio includes a mix of established sales and new growth opportunities being pursued with the legacy products and a mix of sole source, competitive, CP/FP, DoD/DCS contracts.

Initial requirements of on-site training and establishment of team will be required for six months and remote option will be reviewed after six month period.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and provide guidance of program Estimates at Complete (EAC)
  • Support factory execution
  • Direct and coordinate all financial planning activities including budget and monthly forecast updates for the site.

    Develop and maintain overall financial planning calendar and process for the current year budget, and monthly forecasts.

  • Prepare and provide accurate and timely monthly financial reports and provide detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis of key variance and trends.
  • Lead the site revenue recognition process and ensure policies are consistent with current and future accounting standards ASC 606.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, and indirect expenses and develop countermeasures working with managers to achieve results.
  • Lead in the estimate at completion process and work closely with Program Management to develop corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Provide financial support in development of capital expenditure analysis, new business opportunities analysis and other projects as needed or requested.
  • Improve performance by evaluating and improving processes to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support on all financial matters to the company leaders.
  • Coach and develop the site finance team.


  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred
  • 10+ years financial experience in a manufacturing environment (Defense) preferred
  • Working knowledge of FAR/CAS
  • Effective analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with management and other functional areas to ensure business success
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail,
  • Experience recognizing process shortfalls and successfully implement positive change
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to interact with senior management, strong communication and presentation skills.

    Ability to synthesize information into key messages appropriate for the audience
