Flight Operations Support Specialist

Garmin

This is a Full-time position in Scottsdale, AZ posted May 6, 2021.

Garmin is looking for a Flight Operations Support Specialist to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ.

In this role, you’ll provide subject matter expertise and support related to transport category aircraft performance and weight and balance activities.

You’ll be the main point of contact for customers as well as manage customer aircraft configurations, performance questions, change requests, and aircraft weight & balance changes.

Essential functions include:

tProvide first level contact between customer and Garmin
t
t
tResolve, track, and/or route customer’s issues or requests
t
t
tProvide technical support for Garmin products and services to customers
t
t
tTesting and deployment of Garmin products and solutions
t
t
tTechnical writing and publication of aircraft performance data materials
t
t
tDevelopment of customer training materials
t
t
tProject management
t
t
tInvestigate and determine root cause of operational events and failures
t
t
tIdentify issues with aircraft performance and develops corrective actions
t
t
tPerforms on-call duty
t
t
tSpecial projects
t
t
tAbility to travel for customer support and training
t
t
tOther clerical duties and responsibilities as defined
t
Qualified candidates will possess:

t
tBachelor of Science degree or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
t
t
tAt least two years’ experience in the aviation or aerospace industry
t
t
tExperience as a pilot, aircraft dispatcher, performance engineer, or load planner highly desired
t
t
tOperational knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft operations with FAR 121 operations experience preferred.
t
t
tBasic computer programming understanding and database querying abilities
t

Strongly desired experience includes:

tFAA certificated airman and/or aircraft dispatcher
tExperience working at an airline
tExperience with aircraft and/or dispatch computer programs
