Director of Technology Infrastructure & Services

This is a Full-time position in Phoenix, AZ posted November 10, 2021.

Job Summary

The Arizona Diamondbacks are seeking a Director of Technology Infrastructure & Services to join their in-house technology team.

This role is a very hands-on position along with responsibilities for managing a small team of system/cybersecurity admins, helpdesk and game-day support personnel.

Candidates must demonstrate a blend of experienced technical knowledge, technology strategy, strong leadership, communication & project execution skills, and a positive can-do attitude.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Manage the D-backs technology infrastructure & services team (Systems, Servers, Network, Telecom, Cybersecurity & Helpdesk) along with corresponding hardware & software.

Management of User Identities, authentications & licensing primarily with Microsoft Office 365 & Okta.

This also includes Active Directory, OU Management, Group Policy, user permissions, etc.

Management of a very large storage environment (video, file shares & SQL database environment) including multiple NetApp SAN’s across two facilities with some additional cloud storage.

Management of Server & Virtual Server environment including Hyper-V, Windows Servers, installations, maintenance, patching, Veeam backups along with in-depth troubleshooting.

Email Management via Office 365, including legal holds, investigations, content protection (Mimecast), etc.

Skilled in all aspects of desktop and server computing support in a medium-large corporate environment.

Strategy, planning, budgeting & deployment responsibilities of IT systems (hardware and software).

Managing Help Desk & the Game-Day support team to ensure effective service level requirements for technical help requests.

This also includes office support coverage, updating/closing of tickets in accordance with established help-ticket management procedures.

Manage our Cybersecurity efforts coordinating with league-driven Cyber strategy & tool selections.

Authoring and updating of processes, standard operating procedures, policies, technical diagrams & documentation.

Manage projects to ensure deadlines are met and services are delivered correctly and on time.

Manage product-related issues while coordinating with vendor support as needed.

Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

5 plus years of IT specific experience with a focus on systems administration.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Systems/Servers/Cloud products.

Storage Array management skills along with experience managing corporate data & file shares.

Solid working knowledge of standard server support utilities: (imaging, software distribution, remote control, command line utilities, etc.) 
Strong understanding of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DHCP, VLAN, etc.

Proven experience to troubleshoot and resolve systems architecture and IT failures for an organization’s technologies.

Ability and experience developing and coordinating multi-faceted plans and issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with employees and vendors.

Proven job reliability, diligence, and dedication.

Must be organized and have great attention to detail.

Must be flexible with responding to issues & outages by occasionally working nights, weekends, holidays, game day support and on call.

Education and Formal Training:

BS or equivalent in CS, MIS, Engineering, or similar field of study.

Technical certifications a plus; ex: A+ certification, Network+, Microsoft certifications, etc.

Technical Experience Requirements & Nice to Haves:

Five (5) plus years in the information technology industry.

Five years of experience in systems administration of mixed Windows environments including, but not limited to Windows 10 and Windows server 2012/2016/2019
Office 365 Management (Email, AD, OneDrive, etc)
NetApp SAN Storage Management a plus.

cripting (Powershell) and creating technology automations a plus.

Experience with security tools, Antivirus, Advanced Threat Protection, etc.

Experience implementation and support of Active Directory setup, configurations, and implementations
