Always asking “What’s Next,” we are still redefining the role satellite plays in the competitive broadband communications market.Job ResponsibilitiesViaSat is looking for a talented, analytical, and results-driven Supply Chain Program Manager, supporting their Tempe location. This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain, and is responsible for all material planning and supply chain activities for a key customer (or set of customers) and the management of key or critical suppliers. As a Supply Chain Program Manager, you will monitor and mitigate overall risk for all new programs. The SCPM will work closely with external suppliers and internal crossfunctional partners in Program Management, Engineering, Legal, Finance and more to ensure high level supply chain performance on commercial programs. You will manage suppliers through all phases of a product’s lifecycle from contract execution, hardware design and development, ramp up through the end of production. Continuously improve current processes. Identify and/or eliminate project related barriers and risks for team members and partners. Communicate schedules with operations teams, and cross-functional organizations. Establish initial procurement order streams to match supply with demand. Collaborate with suppliers and establish monitoring processes, where applicable, to ensure timely deliveries and quality compliance. Ensure procurement resource requirements are met in all assigned areas. Define key performance indicators, develop metrics and service level agreements for core programs and processes, and track delivery against program objectives. Interface with Operations to implement best practices and ensure consistency across the site. Partner with internal customers to understand the technical details from an engineering perspective and positively influence decisions. Drive execution of vision and goals for the team. Manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously. Our environment is very fast-paced, and requires someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, passionate about the customer and comfortable working with numerous stakeholders across the organization and worldwide in an environment that has a considerable amount of ambiguity.Key responsibilities include:Acting as the main focal point within supply chain for assigned products/suppliers while maintaining internal and external supplier relationships. Presents to the Program Management Office (PMO) and executive leadership on the status and issues affecting schedule performance and program cost. Coordinating and leading collaboration meetings with all supply chain functions (procurement, planning and material control) to ensure that all supply chain commitments are met, plans are developed and executed and risks are mitigated for assigned products/suppliers. This includes assessing complex procurements and breaking them down into manageable pieces, while communicating with cross-functional teams to allow them to deliver results in a successful and timely manner. Working with the supplier on meeting contractual requirements throughout a project lifecycle. This includes compliance to the program milestones and supplier deliverables outlined in the statement of work and other documents. Ensuring the supplier can ramp up from design and development to production. This includes supplier resource planning, process development, capacity ramp up and material clear to build. Pulling in operations resources for process development, technical support and quality assurance. Tracking and managing supplier performance including risks, opportunities, problems, decisions, and schedules. Reporting back to the program and supply chain leadership on supplier progress.Passionately driving supply chain improvements that exceed internal and external customer’s expectations. Requirements10+ years of experience working with suppliers in an entrepreneurial, hightech environment. Space or High Reliability environment experience. Must be well versed and have a working knowledge of FAR/DFARs Experience with preparing pricing for government proposals Experience with contract management, project management, and supplier relationship management within a low volume high mix environment or complex environment. Experience working with development and ramp with contract manufacturers/ electronics hardware manufacturing. Ability to lead in a matrix environment to achieve schedule, cost, quality targets. Understands program milestones and design/development phase gating process. Understands supply chain functions and their importance (demand/supply planning, procurement, material control). Must have excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to present to sr. managers and program leadership. Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of business software is required: Word, Excel, Project and Power Point. US government position. US citizenship required. Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel up to 40%. PreferencesExperience with supplier development and/or top tier supplier management. Project Management certification preferred. Technical degree preferred. Experience with ERP system, Oracle or similar preferred. Experience with PLM, Agile or similar preferred.
