Being a Lead Behavioral Health Technician at Devereux has its Advantages!

Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizonas 24-hour RTC and Therapeutic School, has the capacity to serve 48 children.

The RTC is a safe and supportive environment that provides youth, from the ages of five to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or substance abuse challenges.

We also provide an on-site accredited K-12 therapeutic school, which offers an academic curriculum while students receive intensive behavioral and emotional support.

As an Lead Behavioral Health Technician , you will assist the Teacher in ensuring the academic, social progress, emotional safety and well-being of assigned students.

This position will take more of an active role in educating the students and be a fill in Substitute Teacher as needed, when teachers are absent and/or in the event of a teacher vacancy.

The Lead BHT will be assigned to work with all students in any classroom at any time, and/or train the Direct Care Personnel.

The Lead Behavioral Health Technician will serve as role model, mentor and leader.

You will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Bachelors degree in human services, education required AND must be eligible and willing to obtain an Arizona Substitute Teacher Certification
  • One year Devereux experience OR two (2) years of work experience in behavioral health service delivery.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Must possess (or have the ability to obtain) a AZ Level One Fingerprint Clearance card with NO restrictions
  • Must be able to pass 39-month DMV check
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Must be able to complete and provide proof of current influenza vaccination
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidates understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
