Occupational Health Nurse (RN)

nnThe Occupational Health Nurse (RN) is responsible for the development and administration of efficient and professional operations of occupational health services in accordance with hospital policies, practices, procedures and applicable regulations to achieve desired goals and objectives.

Assist with all aspects of health services, competency, processes, customer service and quality improvement.

Responsible for assisting providers during clinics and minor procedures, sterilization of instruments, conducting required testing and maintaining inventory.nn nn n nn nn What will I be doing in this job?

nn Pre-employment screening, immunizations, health education.

Plan and coordinate annual employee health screenings required by law.

Responsible for securing and developing all employee, equipment, and programs related to employee health services Performs Electrocardiogram testing procedures and train other hospital personnel as needed in the process for emergencies/after hour needs Maintains equipment/instruments including inspection, high level disinfection, and sterilization where appropriate Assist providers with procedures and set up including but not limited to optical, podiatry, audiology, and minor procedures Responsible for ensuring that employees work in a safe manner and that unsafe actions are to be managed.

Compliance with Safety Committee standards is required Trends employee exposures/injuries to identify safety and health issues and assures that proper referrals are made to comply with Workers Compensation.

Assure compliance with state, local and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations Order and restock supplies, check emergency equipment daily, report safety hazards to engineering, podiatry supplies, check for expired items nn n nn nn What does this job require?

nn nnThe ideal candidate will have:nn Two years of occupational health experience and experience in the care and treatment of the mentally ill, developmentally disabled or physically ill and/or incapacitated patients.

nn n nn nn n nn nn Licenses and Certifications?

nn nnREQUIRED:nn Must possess a valid and current RN license to practice in Arizona.

Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR and NVCI certification.

Driver’s License A State Hospital employee must possess a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issues pursuant to A.R.S.41-1758.07 or must apply for a level one fingerprint clearance card within seven working days after beginning employment.
