Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician (Call Center)
Overview:
Taking calls from clients (animal hospitals, vet clinics, etc.) with pharmacy orders
Duties:

  • Work in an inbound/outbound call center setting
  • Work off 2-3 monitors, this is a desk job
  • Provides prompt and considerate service to all customers
  • Receive and input customer orders
  • Ensures that all requests/required data entry is accurate and completed on time
  • Maintains performance levels to specified goals
  • Pay: $18-20

Pharmacy Technician (Compounding)
Overview:
Working in sterile environment mixing components for medications
Duties:

  • Read and interpret veterinarian orders received in pharmacy and transcribe the same onto pharmacy computer medication profile.
  • Measuring quantities for pharmacy orders, mixing ingredients, packaging medication, and updating records.
  • Prepare orders in accordance with pharmacy law and standards of pharmacy practice, prescriptions to be dispensed after pharmacist approval.
  • Follow all safety and USP guidelines for the preparation of compounded medications.
  • Perform duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. Work is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice following departmental procedures and policies.
  • Pay: $22-25

Pharmacy Technician (Dispensing)
Overview:
Check inventory, pull from trailers and repackage medication to smaller packages to send to clinics
Duties:

  • Dispense/repackage in accordance with standards of pharmacy practice compounds for use under direct pharmacist supervision.
  • Repackage in accordance with pharmacy law and standards of pharmacy practice, prescriptions to be dispensed after pharmacist approval.
  • Check and remove outdated meds on a routine basis to ensure that no deteriorated meds are in stock. Keep appropriate records.
  • Perform basic math sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement correctly and consistently.
  • Pay: $18-20
