Provide speech and language therapy services to eligible students in alignment with their IEP.Essential Duties & Accountabilities* Works closely with the SLP to provide speech and language therapy to students that are eligible.* Works closely with general education teacher to access general curriculum resources to utilize during speech therapy.* Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior preservation of confidentiality in regards to student information.* Participates in Professional Development and/or training offered by the Speech Lead/Coordinator.* Assists Speech Lead/Coordinator with projects or tasks within the speech department.* Follows Pre-intervention Speech Improvement Program guidelines.* Facilitates Speech Improvement classes for eligible students.* Prepare progress reports aligned with data tracking logs on a quarterly basis with supervision of the supervising SLP.* Maintain documentation of speech services within IEPPRO Session Tracking.* Create lesson plans and facilitate individual and/or group therapy activities to target IEP goals, using curriculum-based materials and content whenever possible.* Other duties as assigned by the Special Education Coordinator, Principal, Speech Language Coordinator.Competencies* Positively interact with all students.* Create a safe learning environment that is conducive to learning.* Able to employ varied best practices in the profession.* Ability to identify individual student needs.* Good communication skills with, students, coworkers, administration and parents.* Ability to collaborate with other teachers and school staff.* Ability to maintain a professional appearance.* Demonstrate a commitment to the speech language profession by utilizing resources for professional development therefore, improving the services that are provided.Requirements* Minimum of an associate’s degree in an SLPA program or a bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program and successful completion of a minimum of one hundred (100) hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent.* Arizona State License from the Arizona Department of Health Services* Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card* Previous experience preferred* The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.* Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.* Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Work Environment and Physical Demands* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
