SAP ABAP Developer

SAP, ABAP, BAPI, IDOC, BDC, LSMW… IDK, LOL If I haven’t lost you, please read on We’re looking for an SAP ABAP Developer who has played a key role in the full life cycle of implementing SAP ECC.

Buckle your seatbelt, we’re in for some more acronyms below Your role: Technical design, development, unit testing and implementation related to new and existing technical objects including Reports, Interfaces, Data Conversions, Enhancements and Forms and Workflow Work with functional SMEs to translate business functional requirements into clear technical design and related documents.

Develop programs for data conversions and interfaces using BAPI, IDOC, BDC, LSMW and other transaction update methods Demonstrate proficiency and expertise in programming using ABAP Objects in developing classes, interactive reports, dialog transactions, enhancements, interfaces and conversions as required by business using BADIs, BAPI’s and dialog programs Work with SAP development tools and technologies such as ABAP Work Bench, Enhancement Framework, User-exits, Interfaces, IDOC, ALE, BAPIs, BADIs, SAPscript, Smart Forms, CMOD/SMOD, Function Modules and RFC Lead and participate in technical design and code review activities; including review and acceptance of third-party vendor development Work with SAP deployment teams to provide technical knowledge, resolve design issues and perform functional QA reviews at various stages of the implementations Work closely with Testing/Business resources to support system and integration testing Leverage enterprise application implementation expertise with specific SAP products across functional business areas Utilize technical area expertise to assess, select, manage and implement enterprise application components, and to ensure that the technical solution solves the business problem Work closely with Architecture to ensure technical design and development are delivered according to DTCs Enterprise Architecture strategy, standards and principles Recognize impacts of changes and ensures appropriate due diligence is performed before making changes and is thorough in testing solutions before implementing to avoid rework Mentor junior team members in best practices and standards for ABAP development Provide third level support and work closely with the Operations team to support the run and maintenance of SAP What you’ve got : Minimum of 8 years of SAP ABAP programming experience including SAP NetWeaver / ECC6.0 Strong technical experience within the SAP environment to design, develop and implement technical solutions to support RICEF development in large scale, phased deployment implementations SAP ABAP development knowledge of ABAP Objects, ABAP Reports, interface/dialog programming, ABAP online transactions, BAPIs, user exits, batch programming, IDOC, and ALE development and maintenance, ABAP Dictionary, tables, global classes, function modules and other development objects is essential Experience with SAP ECC modules of MM, FI, CO, SD is a plus.

BW, SAPscript and LSMW development experience is a plus Proven ability to manage transports and troubleshoot errors in transport logs Experience with Web Dynpro, ITS, POSDM and AIF is highly desirable Familiarity with ALM (HP Quality Center) is a plus Experience in implementing SAP Proven experience in working in a team environment with fixed delivery dates and strict scope control Proven ability to act in a consulting/educating manner for novice or junior ABAP development staff Demonstrable experience in analysis & design with the ability to recommend design alternatives, create documentation, and resolve highly complex problems and tasks Experience working with process design and requirements gathering Experience in the Retail Environment is a plus Strong interpersonal skills, results oriented and have the ability to integrate into a cross functional team Excellent oral and written communication skills Familiarity with the Agile (Scrum) Development Framework and ASAP methodology Internal candidates will be considered presuming the necessary requirements are present or obtainable
