Sr. Maintenance Mechanic

This is a Full-time position in Tempe, AZ posted April 29, 2021.

General Summary
The Sr.

Maintenance Mechanic conducts, maintains, tests and repairs, liquid and semi-solid food processing equipment and associated electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.

Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation.

Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Food Manufacturing.

Repairs, installs and performs preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure that such equipment is in good operable condition at all times.
Essential Functions
Mentors and trains less experienced maintenance staff.

Follow all required work safe practices.

This would include but is not limited to: lock-out tag-out, PPE, confine space safety awareness, chemical safety, fall protection, etc.; Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety, cGMP, food processing, HAACP, policies/guidelines; Troubleshoot, maintain and repair high-speed food manufacturing and packaging equipment; Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment; Make adjustment to equipment ensuring the proper performance and safe operating conditions; Assist other maintenance and manufacturing personnel with technical troubleshooting; Advise operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components; Document and track all corrective and preventive maintenance performed, aiming to achieve maximum production output, with a target of zero unplanned downtime; Plan, perform and document preventive maintenance functions; Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications; Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions; Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements; Maintain cleanliness of work area; Support and help implement continuous process improvements; Create and maintain POKA guides relative to operations; Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
High School Degree or GED
Certifications, Special Skills
Welding, Plumbing, Electrical Assembly, cGMP, HAACP, Food Processing
Experience:
Minimum 5 yeas experience at a food manufacturing facility;
Preferred 10 years minimum experience at a food manufacturing facility in addition to dietary supplement manufacturing experience
