Job Description ASU, a leading innovator in Higher Education, is committed to maintaining the most dynamic and productive learning experience in all of higher education. This position is in partnership with Actionable Analytics in the Office of the Executive Vice President and University Provost and the University Technology Office (UTO). As part of this partnership, the Sr. ETL Developer will play a leading role in the development, implementation, and management of data warehouse solutions to support Student Success initiatives for ASU. This position offers a fun, energetic, and technically rich environment with many opportunities for advancement. The Sr. ETL Developer is responsible for translating business requirements into Cloud-based (AWS) technical data warehouse solutions; developing moderate to complex SQL; designing and developing database objects (e.g., tables, views, procedures) using Redshift, Spectrum and S3; designing, developing and testing destructive and incremental ETL Jobs (Matillion and PL/pgSQL); maintaining slowly changing Type 2 dimensions; optimizing both ETL and database performance; providing leadership and technical coaching to junior team members; supporting production and making bug fixes for data warehouse processes and data; developing and maintaining data models and documentation. This position is expected to be on-site at ASU’s campus in Tempe, Arizona. Out-of-area candidates are invited to apply; relocation expenses are not covered. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, information technology or closely related field and six (6) years of related experience OR Master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, information technology or closely related field and four (4) years of related experience, OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
