Compliance Associate – Corporate Risk

As the company’s second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo’s risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline’s execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

Wells Fargo Compliance is seeking a Compliance Associate to support effective administration of the Compliance Risk Committee, the company’s enterprise forum for governance of compliance risk matters, and support compliance risk reporting to board and executive audiences.

The Compliance Associate will:

  • Support execution of monthly routines for committee preparation execution
  • Handle restricted and confidential supervisory information with the utmost care and discretion
  • Organize and manage document storage and retention
  • Exercise effective communication and promote positive client relations with business partners and management
  • Understand and effectively apply applicable Compliance policies and procedures
  • Provide compliance risk support and consulting for special projects and initiatives

Critically important in this role is the ability to understand and adhere to defined procedures, willingness to become a subject matter expert in applicable policy requirements and their application, and capability to manage multiple high priority and high visibility deliverables at once.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in risk (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management demonstrated through work or military) or 1+ year in the foregoing or financial services industry and a BS/BA degree or higher in business or a related field

Desired Qualifications

  • An active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to take detailed notes during meetings
  • Experience in Compliance or Risk
  • Experience providing credible challenge to business partners when necessary, with the ability to lead through influence
  • Experience with assessing risk and consulting with business partners to view risk holistically
  • Demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion

Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
