Job Description Arizona State University is rapidly growing in academic and research efforts, and is seeking a Deputy CISO to lead security projects as we embark on projects such as the future of identity and access management, the maturation of cloud offerings across the campus, and a next generation network. This role will be critical in bringing together diverse talent from across the organization and will be helping shape the road to zero-trust for ASU. With oversight and guidance from the Chief Information Security & Digital Trust Officer and the Chief Operating Officer within UTO, this role will be asked to provide leadership around information security best practices, strategic priorities and alignment across the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director of Products and Projects this person oversees a suite of security initiatives and will be responsible for leadership specifically within security risk/vulnerability assessment, security privacy and identity/access management for enterprise solutions at ASU. As with everyone in the UTO family, culture and communications are core responsibilities in this role. This role will conduct and lead iterative reviews of all security projects and services to empower the advancement of secure operational excellence across the University. This entails review of the current security practices, management of risk and creating strategic priorities across the enterprise and bringing forward recommendations for improvements to ensure the university’s technology platforms, networks, and applications align and support future strategic objectives and goals. The complexity of this position requires a leadership approach that is engaging, imaginative, and collaborative, with a sophisticated ability to work with other leaders to set the best alignment of security practices and enterprise IT strategies in support of research, education and business priorities across the Enterprise. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems or a related field (master’s degree preferred) and ten (10) years of experience in information technology with at least 5 years supervisory and technology project managementOR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
