Enterprise Logging Senior Engineering Lead

The Centralized Logging Systems and Services (CLSS) team is part of the Enterprise Technology Infrastructure group responsible for all aspects of the enterprise infrastructure, and various applications. CLSS is responsible for the development, oversight, and risk assessment of new and existing applications for enterprise monitoring and management.

This position is responsible for the senior-level work within the enterprise Splunk environment. The ideal candidate will support the engineering functions that directly contribute to the Splunk environment. Must be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure enterprise environment. Will serve as a strong technical resource on large-scale, enterprise wide application issues, and serve as a mentor to less experienced staff. This role is expected to serve as a technical lead in the engineering space.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of systems analysis experience, systems programming experience or combination of both
  • 5+ years of infrastructure experience
  • 5+ years of experience engineering and analyzing both Windows based and Unix based operating systems
  • 5+ years of scripting and automation experience
  • 3+ years of Agile experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in managing IT infrastructure for a medium-to-large organization
  • Relationship management experience with organizational partners and customers
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile, Kanban, or Lean methodology
  • Practical knowledge of ITIL application processes and implementation
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
  • Knowledge and understanding of application development, infrastructure, and architecture environments
  • Knowledge and understanding of systems, storage, and network infrastructure
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of enterprise level Splunk or Elastic log management experience
  • Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) premium product or Google Chronicle is very strongly desired
  • Experience with logging tool chains (like ELK or Splunk premium products)
  • Log querying, reporting, and dashboarding skills with particular emphasis on reporting on infrastructure and application performance and capacity
  • Log tool administration experience in an enterprise environment ingesting >10TB daily
  • Experience interacting with all levels of an organization
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent years of experience

Job Expectations

  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
