Job Title:   Information Technology Coordinator

Department: Information Technology

Reports To:  Chief Information Officer (CIO) & IT Support Manager (in CIO’s absence)


Provides support for all Information Technology staff, and performs purchasing and administrative tasks for all staff.  Provides first tier support for routine IT Requests, monitors overdue IT Requests and dispatches support calls.  

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintains complete confidentiality at all times.
  • Coordinates and arranges meetings, prepares agendas, reserves and prepares facilities, and records and transcribes minutes of meetings as requested.
  • Coordinates department meeting scheduling and assists with updates to the IT Calendar.
  • Ensures minutes are electronically/digitally organized for efficient research retrieval of information.
  • Practices strong organization and time management capabilities.
  • Organizes/disseminates incoming mail and internal memos and reports, sorts by priority and importance.
  • Enters purchase orders and invoices for entire IT Department into ordering systems.
  • Ensure all customer phone calls and emails are addressed in a 4 diamond manner with tickets created for each incident
  • Coordinates Vendor escorts for IT Department.
  • Manages IT Vendor Contact information and keeps records up to date.
  • Performs follow up on defined percentage of closed IT Help Desk System tickets
  • Adheres to all documented Service Level Agreements (SLAs). 
  • Identifies improvement opportunities. Examples include but not limited to tools, processes, procedures, installation, configuration and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Answers technical support calls and provides optimum client satisfaction and where possible completes routine customer support calls and documents IT calls in the IT Help Desk system.
  • Effectively provides department support through exercising strong organization and time management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of department policies and procedures including those pertaining to regulatory guidelines.
  • Keeps abreast of all department communications (i.e. e-mail, system logs, IT request system, voice mail, pagers, and cellular/spectra-line telephones) with the regularity necessary to efficiently perform one’s duties. 
  • Attends meetings and training as required.

Education and/or Experience

HS Diploma or GED required.  Two years experience in a customer service.  Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical/vocational school; and/or equivalent combination of education and related technical experience.

Computer Skills

Must have a good working knowledge of computers and related technology equipment. Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.  

Other Qualifications
Must have exceptional customer service and time management skills.  Must have good problem solving skills.  Must be able to adapt to new and unusual situations.  Must be able to work with both employees and management personnel and be a team player.  Must be able to communicate to large groups and be comfortable on occasions providing some of the technical new hire training. 

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employees is regularly required to stand or sit for extended periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.  The employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
