Take a look at career opportunities at Viasat today.Job ResponsibilitiesThis position will have responsibility for assuring the quality of Viasat government program products through the procurement of parts and materials, the manufacturing of circuit card and final product and the test and delivery to the customer. Assurance responsibility will span the product life cycle through development, production and service.This position will oversee and coordinate quality assurance activities across the Viasat functional areas as well as with suppliers and contract manufacturers. Specific responsibilities will include;Participation in the development, review and deployment of Quality System processes and procedures.Assessment of customer, military, and industry requirements documents for development of tailored Quality Plans for compliance.Proactive participation in product development assuring quality is designed in and lessons learned are applied including support of all program development meetings, PDR, CDR, MRR and TRRs as needed. Assuring manufacturing processes have been assessed for capability and readiness and necessary controls, training and metrics are applied.Performance of QA surveys and audits of present and proposed suppliers and subcontractors to ensure adequate QA systems are implemented and maintained. Implementation of the controls, inspections and tests through part/material procurement and receipt and into product manufacturing and delivery assuring the quality of the product is achieved. This includes product and material qualification, part/material receiving inspection, and product/system production inspection, test and delivery.Identification, control and disposition of nonconformances including leadership of Material Review Board.Chair FRACAS for the program and report all failures incurred during fabrication, integration and testing. Drive failure analysis and root cause investigations assuring timely and effective corrective action, including failure analysis activities internally as well as with outside labs.Collection, analysis and reporting of quality performance utilizing statistical and analytical tools and methods (e.g., Pareto Analysis, Histograms, Cause & Effect Diagrams, SPC, Cpk, etc.) to shared with internal and external customers. Tracking and Reporting of Quality performance / status to management and customers.Performance of internal as well as supplier audits and driving resolution of compliance issues.Requirements10+ years of experience working with space programs in a Quality Engineer RoleBachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.Knowledgeable of Military Standards and Handbooks (Quality, Reliability and Configuration Management)Communication skills to work with Government Customers and Regulatory representatives.Display autonomy (ability to work independently with minimal supervision). Analytical to resolve internal and external quality issues and drive corrective and preventive actions.Technical aptitude (ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information)Working knowledge of Contamination Control (ISO-14644 or FED-STD-209).Working knowledge of PLM Tool (such as Agile) as well as ERP system (such as Oracle).Advanced Microsoft Office computer skills to compute and compile necessary data and to present data in various forms for recording, reporting and presentations.US Government position.
