Solutions Engineer

This is a Full-time position in Phoenix, AZ posted February 12, 2021.

Responsibilities As Solutions Engineer, you will partner with our client’s sales and marketing teams, assisting by qualifying, positioning, and transitioning sales opportunities within the education sales channel. You will work closely with the technology and innovation team to understand our newest products and services, introducing them to the market, while also maintaining a deep understanding of the current and evolving technology landscape and gathering customer feedback to best shape our future product offerings to meet the needs of our customers. Primary Responsibilities Include Serving as primary, pre- and post-sales, technical resource for all product lines to Account Service Managers within the assigned regional market. Meeting with customers and prospects to understand their broadband, communications, access-layer networking, or cloud computing environments and requirements. Fostering customer relationships that result in high levels of customer satisfaction, customer retention and new revenue opportunities. Working with sales, technology, operations, and finance teams to sell, design, and price supportable, profitable, creative solutions that are market-leading and meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations. Working to overcome solution-specific objections from customers and showcasing our solutions in a competitively beneficial light. Performing extensive pre- or post-sales surveys to gather and communicate information to our client’s engineering and support teams to facilitate a successful post-sales transition and implementation. Developing attractive, well-written and highly detailed proposals that are targeted for both technical and non-technical audiences in response to the technical-requirementsrsquo sections of customer proposals. Establishing and maintaining positive relationships across all departments. Representing customersrsquo and prospectsrsquo interests to internal teams, as appropriate, to ensure continuous improvements in product offerings, network effectiveness, client relationships and overall customer satisfaction. Engaging customers during marketing events and regional conferences. Providing internal technical training and presentations for current and new products to the ASM or SE teams. Qualifications You are highly-technical and utilize that skillset to provide internal teams with the information necessary to strategically promote, position and sell a broad portfolio of complex products and services, as well as positioning such solutions to best address prospective customersrsquo perceived needs. You have a strong ability and desire to build relationships, collaborate cross-functionally, strategize, and project manage. Your proven written and verbal communication skills enable you to prepare effective sales presentations and assist, as needed, with demonstrating and explaining the technical features and product benefits to multiple audience types. You have a demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work under pressure, execute professional and accurate business proposals and grasp both technical and business-related nuances in a rapidly changing environment. Experience includes A Bachelorrsquos degree is preferred, or equivalent experience is required. Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification is preferred. Qualified candidates will have six or more years of sales, sales engineering or customer-facing, production engineering experience in broadband (IP, Ethernet, TDM, BGP, MPLS, general routing and switching) sales engineering or engineering experience, as well as general knowledge of the broadband marketplace and evolving broadband technologies. A minimum of 3 years direct or indirect experience designing, implementing and supporting medium to large scale multi-protocol data networks is required. Candidates should also have significant experience in Cloud Computing, VoIPHosted PBXUnified Communications and at least one of the broader technology categories of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Wi-Fi andor LANWAN networking. A background in VoIP Engineering or Network Engineering is a plus. Candidates must be highly proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel with a greater depth of understanding in Microsoft Visio. At present, travel has been minimized due to our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the travel required for this position can be as high as 50-70 of the time, with travel to customer locations 2-3 days per week, on average. Some overnight stays will be required. A valid driverrsquos license is required, and the candidatersquos driving record must enable them to be eligible for coverage under our liability policy. The ability to maintain and work effectively from a home-based office innear either the Phoenix, AZ or Denver, CO areas is required.
