Forklift Operator

This is a Contract position in Phoenix, AZ posted June 21, 2020.

15/hrSunday to Friday with 1 day off, 3p-3aIn this temporary role, you will primarily drive a forklift in a large, congested warehouse.

You will stock pallets of beverages in the picking areas.

There will be 35-45 pickers on walkie-rider pallet jacks, as well as, forklift and pedestrian traffic.

The aisles are narrow, and the pickers move quickly.

You will need safely operate a forklift, constantly checking clearances, in this fast-paced environment.

You will need to avoid damaging product and racking.

The warehouse is loud and working conditions are impacted by seasons and the weather.

Our ability to control the temperature in our warehouses is limited.PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:Be able to safely operate and drive a propane, sit down, dual forkliftFollow all forklift safety rules and report any accidentsWork with a sense of urgency and do not slow down pickersPlace pallets of product into standard and push-back rackingLet down products from standard and push-back rackingCut stretch wrap off palletsMove pallets and product to replenish picking areaSort pallets by type and conditionGeneral housekeeping and specific sanitation tasks as required (e.g.

sweep floor, cut stretch wrap, sort pallets or shells, take out the trash, etc.)Any other tasks that need to be performed including general labor, both inside and outside the warehouseEXPECTATIONS:Schedule:oReport to work on time and as scheduled, if you cannot make it in call a supervisoroOn the first day, you must attend forklift certification and orientation at 1pm or will be sent awayoYou will work 5 days a week from Sunday to Friday with a day off during the weekoYou will work on holidaysoYou will start at 2:50pm daily and finish when the work is completeoYou will never work over 14.5 hours including lunchoYou will generally average 45-55 hours per week but will have weeks with 60oAssignment may be extended or may end at any timeoYou will have an unpaid 30-minute lunch and at least two 15-minute breaks on 8-hour day and more on longer daysUniform:oYou must wear steel-toe shoes (not provided)oYou must wear safety glasses and a reflective vest (provided)oYou must wear shirt with sleeves and pants or shorts, athletic shorts are fineReporting Hours:oYou will fill out timecard and give to warehouse supervisor by Friday nightoYou will submit hours online each Sunday by 3pmoBefore leaving, you must always check out with a supervisorCOVID-19 Prevention:oAllow body temperature to be taken anytime entering the siteoMaintain and practice good hygiene to include washing hands frequentlyoMaintain proper social distancing of 6 and increase separation between colleaguesoSanitize all equipment prior to useoIf feeling sick or someone in your contact is sick, call a supervisor prior to reporting to workMiscellaneous:oFollow warehouse expectations policyoYou must return badge and keys daily, or will be chargedoIf you bring a lunch, it must be in a lunch bag or cooler.

There are vending machines on site that take cash or card.oDrinking water is providedoPossibility for full-time employmentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:You are 18 years of age or olderCertification must be presented before they can be considered for any work assignment6 months of experience in Forklift services, especially working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (e.g., pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks, maximizing storage by stacking products vertically, etc.)Lift objects that weigh anywhere between 15 pounds and 60 poundsYou are able to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periodsYou are able to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle productsYou are willing and able to work in an environment that has extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous/loud equipment, and slippery surfacesATTRIBUTES SOUGHT:Communication: you will interact with coordinators, peers, managers, and team leads about issues, downtime and breaks because communication is essential for a successful day.Flexibility: we look out for one another on the warehouse floor by being flexible when we must tackle changes, environmental changes, and sudden work schedule changes.Work Ethic: we expect you to go quotabove and beyondquot on your assigned job tasks.

We closely track performance and efficiency throughout work shifts.
