In addition, s/he will direct the entire operations for all nursing activities and personnel associated with the delivery of Ambulatory Surgical services for Arizona Urology Specialists.Director of Nursing Responsibilities:ManagementCoordinates the daily and long-term strategic operations through close interaction with Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Director, and Physicians.Develops, implements, and revises nursing policies and procedures to assure that everyone within the nursing department adheres to the high standards of patient care expected.Hires qualified team members serving as a catalyst and mentor for motivating productivity, innovation, high employee morale, and commitment to the organization.Sets clear and specific expectations/objectives for team members and the department.Recognizes and provides coaching, counseling, and discipline as appropriate.Responsible for the execution of Ambulatory Surgical Centers Quality Assurance initiatives.Responsible for the evaluation and acquisition of medical equipment and devices negotiating cost-effective pricing.

Assures that all supplies, equipment, physical space, and other resources are properly managed and maintained.Functions as an advocate/liaison for patients, families, physicians, and other staff members.Facilitates staff education activities (ie.

Orientation, Competency, and Mandatory in-services).Consults with other Nursing Leadership and C-Level Executives within United Urology.

Strategic PlanningResponsible for the development and implementation of departmental policies, budgets, and strategic plans.Responsible for all ambulatory surgical facilities; maintaining the centersaccording to all federal/state accreditation requirements, corporate protocols, and standards.Consults with other Nursing Leadership and C-Level Executives within United Urology.

Masters Degree preferred.Seven to ten years experience managing nursing staff, preferably with experience in an Ambulatory Care setting.Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Arizona.Prior experience with AAAHC Accreditation process required.

KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:Proficient knowledge of Medical Terminology.Superior leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Proficient computer software and database skills.Strong math and analytical skills.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
