We are seeking a hands on Engineering Manager for our Merchant Services Portfolio to lead our transformation technology initiative to modernize our current platform.

In this role, the Engineering Manager is responsible for transforming the organizational focus to a more collaborative solution design to ensure that optimal solutions are created to lower risk and drive desired outcomes; driving and maximizing partnership between interfacing applications related to strategic system architecture; leading the creation of the future roadmap through active partnership with Architecture & Engineering Managers; driving and maximizing partnerships between interfacing applications related to strategic system architecture and facilitating collaboration between organizations to include technology, architecture, info security and 3rd party

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Leading a team of Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Business Systems Consultants
  • Hiring training and mentoring resources to participate in thought leadership of our Wells Fargo strategic goals
  • Assigning resources, managing deliverables and being a hands on execution leader
  • Managing application integration activity jointly with other Engineering Managers
  • Being an engaging partner with our architects and lead by example to deliver technology solutions to solve business problems

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technology engineering experience
  • 4+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment

Desired Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Agile experience
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies
  • 5+ years of financial services experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Ability to develop and promote creative alternatives as a way to solve for business requirements
  • Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to prepare management level presentations
  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills
  • Experience supporting or directing offshore teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Build and CICD technologies experience
  • 5+ years of experience with an industry-standard scripting language

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours
  • Flexibility to address incidents as needed 24 hours a day
