Inventory Control Manager

We are currently seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor.  The successful candidate will have spent some time in a manufacturing warehouse environment, in a leadership role.  This position will liaise and work in conjunction with customers, other plant departments, and corporate functions to ensure a smooth and continuous business operation. Responsibilities

  • Assists with interviewing, hiring of Inventory control/Exception management specialists and Inventory Auditors.
  • Provides training, sets performance goals and provides evaluative feedback to all direct reports.
  • Runs the check-in/check out process: whereas restock staff is responsible for moving goods inter-departmentally and ensuring that they are tracked and that no one except warehouse staff or loss prevention touches the material.
  • Initiates conduct and seeks appropriate approvals involving disciplinary action up to and including terminations of all violators of control processes.
  • Will partner with LLP and takes a proactive role in establishing and carrying out shrinkage control disciplines and programs and accepts a high level of responsibility for shrinkage performance.
  • WMS and reporting tool superuser. Assure adequate and timely training of staff on Warehouse Management System.
  • Work hand in hand with the Operations team.
  • Full warehouse inventory responsibility and ownership including wall-to-wall inventories, mandatory cycle counts inventory audits.
  • Assure inventory and restock compliance with corporate warehouse policies, procedures and programs.
  • Manages inventory within the guidelines of a Foreign Trade Zone.
  • Inventory housekeeping.
  • Detailed root causes analysis for exceptions/discrepancies and provide corrective action.
  • Recommend changes in process to improve the warehouse area and operating efficiency. Continuous improvement is key.
  • Monitor product movement within the Warehouse Management System for historical data and analysis.
  • Manage and provide daily, weekly and monthly reporting from Warehouse Management System extraction in the proper format for analysis and Key Performance Indicator assessment.
  • Execute daily inventory audit counts at levels in accordance to agreements and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Monitor and control inventory variances, overseeing inventory adjustment validation and resolution process.
  • Assure proper maintenance of inbound and outbound shipment records.
  • Monitor and control warehouse processes and operations to insure timely visibility of products.
  • Control/monitor proper documentation and labeling for the overall mapping of the Warehouse Management System and its maintenance.
  • Monitor all Key Performance Indicators associated with the current inventory in the Warehouse Management System, multiple warehouses and associated locations and report to management.
  • Assist management in continuous training and education of the department staff and supervise cross-training.
  • Planning and scheduling of team members based on workload requirements to execute tasks at high standards
  • Supervises the cycle counters who perform continuously scheduled counts and hot counts, maintains count records and reports discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Focuses on the world-class inventory accuracy
  • Leads the inventory cycle counter team
  • Controls inventory integrity
  • Establishes departmental processes and procedures
  • Balances and assigns workload for the team
  • Works with finance to adhere to financial and system requirements
  • Organizes, schedules, and leads project-based counting activities
  • Communicate with management on a regular basis of inventory accuracies and discrepancies
  • Facilitates scheduled inventory reviews directed by Finance or outside audit
  • Participates on the Plan For Every Part Team (PFEP)
  • Reviews and monitors inventory errors to include lost inventory, damaged inventory, etc.
  • Investigates losses, gains, or record errors, investigates part histories to identify misuse, specification problems, unaccounted scrap, or possible theft
  • Analyzes production material receiving records
  • Performs end of model obsolescence counts (supplier over-shipments, interplant and Service Parts sales, disposal of physical inventory)
  • Interfaces with finance and other production control teams on material issues
  • Supports the production organization while adhering to inventory control procedures
  • Develops, improves, and maintains standardized work
  • Able to work on any shift for a specific time period
  • Other inventory relevant duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 5 years relevant work experience in a high volume, high SKU Fulfillment center
  • Strong inventory control/inventory management experience in an environment with high inventory turn
  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning “MRP” software such as SAP Preferred
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, Power point and Outlook programs preferred
  • Knowledge of systems interface between Enterprise Resource Planning and Manufacturing Execution Systems “MES” preferred
  • Good organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team orientation and cross-functional attitude
  • Ability to create and present detailed and summary reports
  • Root cause analysis experience (Lean, Six Sigma, Process Improvement)
