Manager, Trade Compliance

Amkor Technology

This is a Full-time position in Tempe, AZ posted November 1, 2021.

Amkor Technology, Inc. is seeking to hire an experienced professional to collaborate with Amkor organizations worldwide and help meet legal and stakeholder requirements relating to Global Trade. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Compliance. This position is based out of the Amkor corporate office in Tempe, AZ. (The other Amkor offices in Irvine and San Diego, CA can be considered.)

Job Requirements:

  • Oversee processes to ensure compliance with U.S. and international import/export laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Manage screening and diligence programs to ensure compliance with various trade and economic sanctions and embargoes.
  • Provide trade compliance guidance to U.S. team and local factory export teams in Asia and Europe.
  • Respond to dynamic changes in trade control regulations.
  • Address sanction and export control requests and inquiries from external and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and continuously improve trade compliance policies and procedures, training and recordkeeping.
  • Conduct internal audits and reviews of company export/re-export and technology control activities.
  • Some other duties may be assigned.
  • Work as an individual contributor performing functional manager duties.


  • At least 5 years’ experience as an international trade professional.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Cultural sensitivity; prior experience in a multinational company is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate a decentralized and fast paced environment.
  • Sound and practical business judgment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with all levels of an organization; a sense of humor is important.
  • Strong project management skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Eagerness for learning new areas and expanding skill sets.
  • Flexibility, responsiveness, and willingness to take on assignments.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and maintain attention to detail.
  • Production driven; must be able to work quickly and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in anticipating potential stakeholder needs.
  • Works well within a team and can build productive relationships to achieve results.
  • Flexibility to work as necessary to meet the demands of the role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Malay, or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Experience working in the semiconductor industry supply chain strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with U.S. re-export controls, foreign direct product rules and technology controls preferred.
  • Post Graduate Degree is a plus.
  • Experience with regulators on international trade compliance matters is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using SAP Enterprise Resource Planning is a plus.
