Plan Design Consultant II (401K/Retirement Plan Consultant)


This is a Contract position in Tempe, AZ posted October 31, 2021.

ADP is hiring a 401k/Retirement Plan Consultant (could be a level I or II).

In this position you will be responsible for review of conversion plan 401k plan documents and creation of ADP adoption agreement necessary for approval and onboarding to ADP.

Builds and manages relationship with internal and external parties through plan approval phase, consults client to ensure plan is in compliance with applicable IRS and DOL regulations, determine best-fit provisions for ADP plan and provides solutions that are compatible with ADP prototype plan document and recordkeeping platform.

Researches and responds to technical inquiries about plan provisions from internal teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with client, FA, prior recordkeeper and other ADP departments to obtain required plan documentation for review.

Analyze existing plan documentation to identify plan provisions, features, and benefits.

Identify any issues that could lead to plan qualification issues and address with client.

Create ADP plan documents that account for prior plan protected benefits and desired plan changes within IRS/DOL regulations.

Communicate ADP plan provisions to client and secure signed ADP documents for approval and plan set up Maintain documentation based on department standards to facilitate seamless implementation process and limit ADP liability Maintain familiarity with applicable laws and regulations and ADP product and service offering Assist with research and resolution of escalated issues from client or internal departments.

Participate on team projects and stretch assignments as appropriate Recommend procedural changes and take the lead on rollout and implementation Provide support and training to level I team members as needed Work with leader or other internal partners as a resource on complex 401(k) cases to ensure smooth onboarding of new business Explore our COVID-19 page to understand how ADP is approaching safety, travel, the hiring interview process, and more.
